Dr. Thomas Plunkett
Dr Thomas Plunkett was born at Toghernaross, Kilcogy in 1900.
He qualified as a medical doctor and served the people of Kilnaleck as a dispensary Doctor for most of his career.
He was one of the first trustees of Breffni Park in Cavan. During Cavan's Glory years of the 1930's he served as medical advisor to the team and was there when they won their first All-Ireland in 1933.
It was this selfless devotion to the people of Kilnaleck and its surrounds and to Cavan & Ulster G.A.A that Crosserlough decided to name their new football grounds after him.
